Back 6 Club

FOR NOVICE JUNIOR GOLFERS
After analyzing our role as a junior golf program provider it became apparent that we were doing a good job introducing children who have never played golf to the game as well as providing a competitive outlet for the experienced junior golfer. However, a void seemed to exist for that transition level child who has completed the series of group clinics but has limited on-course-playing experience.

Thus was conceived the BCC Back Six Club. Holes 13 through 18 are not used by our regular patrons until after 10:00 a.m. most days and are thus available for some on-course training for novice level junior golfers. It must be stressed that the Back Six Club is not a beginners introductory level program. It is designed to familiarize novice level junior golfers with proper on course conduct in addition to honing playing skills.

Basic guidelines for participation in the BCC Back Six Club are as follows:

  • Sincere desire to learn about the game of golf, including rules knowledge and etiquette.
  • The child must have basic golfing skills i.e. the ability to score “double par” or better and to proceed at a pace of play of 13 minutes per hole or less from the forward tees.
  • The child must be able to carry his or her own bag or be able to negotiate the course with a pull cart.

There is no fee or pre-registration necessary for the Back Six Club. Participants should contact the Golf Shop prior to first day of participation.

The Back 6 Club schedule starts the second Friday in July at 8 AM and runs for six weeks.

The Bethlehem Country Club staff and adult volunteers will supervise all play.

NOTE: A Bethlehem Country Club junior membership or green fees must be paid for play on other than scheduled Back Six Club dates.
